This apps formatting NEEDS to be greatly improved for the iPhone 5. As of 2014 Dec 23, the subscription rate is excessively high for the poor readability caused by insufficient magnification. In order to read an article I have to "unpinch" and hold my thumbs on the iPhones screen to maintain barely adequate magnification or the text size reverts to a smaller, unreadable size. A simple update to allow for sufficient magnification via double-tapping on a news article would be a welcome improvement. If I could cancel the subscription and get my money back I would, however the policy does not allow for this, even though I had no way of knowing that the app is not properly developed for my device. In my opinion, this is an example of poor customer relations. At this time there are no other user ratings showing for this app. I wonder how many reviews are required to get an average, two? I encourage iPhone users to rate the app with the objective of motivating developers to perform a much needed update so we can read the paper sans finger acrobatics. Another thing I find unfortunate is that archived copies, even the issue that was published just one week prior to my e-subscription, are more than double the newsstand price. Thats just sad. I think its great that the Patriot, which I have read for over 27 years, is available on-line, however, the app developer they have chosen does not reflect the papers good reputation. Again, thats just sad.
